Tigermylk and Float are delicious milky dairy-free drinks
that have been specially developed to taste great in tea and coffee, and to be used in all applications where you would usually use milk. They are delivered in re-usable glass bottles, helping to reduce tetra-pack waste in Bristol, a popular packaging which is not fully recyclable.
Float
This is a full-bodied, fresh and natural tasting oatmylk that is unique. We have teamed up with the organic pioneers Hodmedods and are using a special variety of oat that no-one else is using, which we know because there is such a limited supply! The oats in Float are therefore traceable to a single farm in lincolnshire, called Turners of Bytham. Most importantly, they help make Float taste more naturally milky than anything else out there, and can make anything from frothy capuccino's to white sauces for your lasagnes.
Tigermylk
Tigermylk tastes like a cross between almond and oat milk, but with an extra richness and fullness of flavour, mainly due to the fact it has a much higher percentage of ingredients compared to most nut milks (also, its not a nut, meaning it is fine for people with nut allergies). People who have kept up a weekly subscription for over a year describe it as their favourite dairy-free option.
Tigernuts have been part of the human diet for longer than almost any other crop - 2 million years! They are the tubers of Cyperus esculentus (though to be clear, they are not nuts - nor much to do with tigers, besides their fetching stripes). The tubers are a great source of lots of mineral goodness, including iron, magnesium, potassium, and calcium, and are high in soluble fibre, which is good for the gut. Due to the unique blend of ingredients in Tigermylk, it provides a rounded nutritional boost to your diet.
The tiger nut plants, which are closely related to grasses, are a sustainable, low-impact crop, and have the *potential* to be grown in the UK - we did trial it, but found no willing growing partners, yet. Check out @tigerandfloat on instagram for pictures of this.

Tigermylk and float aims to address two issues at the same time - the poor treatment of cows in industrial dairy settings, and the huge amount of plastic and tetrapack waste generated by all kinds of milks, animal and plant alike. All glass bottles and metal caps are thoroughly washed and re-used, and can last a long time if looked after well.
Organically grown
Both mylks use organic ingredients where possible, in recognition that this is the best choice for our soils and ecosystems. At present, rapsflower (rapeseed) oil is difficult to source in small wholesale amounts organically, but hopefully it will become more available in the near future.
Fridge Life
If kept continuously in the fridge, tigermylk and float can last for over a week - but we recommend to use within 4 days once opened.
